Is there really an Enzo? “We get asked that a lot” says Tom Tillotson, founder of Enzo’s pizza. Well, “if you believe in Santa there is” Tom said on a warm sunny day on the patio of Enzo’s first location in Stone Mountain. Why not believe? Believe in Santa and you get gifts, believe in Enzo and you a good old fashioned New York style pizzeria right here in Atlanta that serves great pizza, pasta, fresh salads and those delicious little garlic knots. Mmmm, garlic knots!
New Jersey native Tom Tillotson 40 is a busy man these days. An active real estate investor, he spent his early days in Atlanta as a concert promoter and later a buying, renovating and reselling homes apartment buildings and commercial real estate. During the past several years, Tom spent his time scouring the Atlanta metropolitan area for great properties. While scouring he had to eat, right? What better than a great slice of pizza? That’s right, slice of pizza. That’s hard to find in Atlanta. So, like a lot of things Tom has created in his life when he saw a need, Enzo’s was born. He found a great location, assembled a passionate team, dug up a “secret” recipe and created Enzo’s.
Great pizza by the slice wasn’t enough so, Tom added pasta, your choice of four types and you pick your own sauce. On this day we sampled whole wheat penne and chose pesto sauce and a nice fresh spinach salad (be careful it’s huge) to go along with it. Delicious!
Some will notice that every drink comes with a frosted glass. Others will delight in the reasonable prices and exceptional food quality and freshness. Still, everyone seems to agree that there’s something special about Enzo’s, it’s a feeling, an attitude, a vibe. Or maybe it’s Enzo, sort of like Santa spreading to joy to all those who are willing to believe. One visit and you will believe!
